This Privacy Policy explains how this site (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you upload and view crossword puzzles hosted through our puzzle upload tool.
Summary
We do not require accounts and we do not use analytics on hosted puzzle files.
Uploaded puzzles are hosted at unlisted links (not publicly listed). Anyone with the link can access the puzzle.
We use Google reCAPTCHA v2 (Checkbox) on the upload form to help prevent spam/abuse.
1) What we collect
A. Puzzle uploads
When you upload a puzzle, we store the puzzle file (and any files our hosting process generates to display it). Any text contained inside the puzzle (title, author, notes, etc.) will be stored as part of the hosted puzzle.
Visibility: Uploaded puzzles are “unlisted.” We do not provide a public directory or listing of uploaded puzzles, but anyone who has the direct link can view the puzzle.
B. Basic server logs
Like most websites, our servers may automatically receive and log basic technical information when you visit the site or view a hosted puzzle, such as:
IP address
browser/device information (user agent)
date/time of requests
error logs
We use this information for security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.
C. reCAPTCHA (Google)
We use Google reCAPTCHA v2 Checkbox on the upload form to help protect the site from spam and abuse. reCAPTCHA may set a necessary cookie (_GRECAPTCHA) and process information for risk analysis.

2) Cookies
We do not use cookies for analytics on hosted puzzle files. However, Google reCAPTCHA may set cookies (including _GRECAPTCHA) as part of providing its security and risk analysis.

3) How we use information
We use information described above to:
host and serve your uploaded puzzle at a link
prevent spam/abuse (including via reCAPTCHA)
secure and maintain the site (debugging, error handling)
4) Sharing and third parties
We do not sell uploaded puzzle data.
We may share limited information with service providers strictly to run the site (for example, hosting/CDN/logging providers). reCAPTCHA is provided by Google and processes information as described above.

5) Retention and deletion
Default retention: Uploaded puzzles are automatically deleted after [DEFAULT RETENTION PERIOD, e.g., 30 days].
“Do not delete” option: If you select “Do not delete” during upload, we will keep the hosted puzzle available until you request removal.
Requesting deletion: You can request deletion at any time by contacting us at: [LINK TO YOUR “Contact to delete” PAGE] Please include the full puzzle link/URL you want removed so we can identify the correct file.
6) Security
We take reasonable steps to protect uploaded files and the site. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Please avoid uploading sensitive personal information.
7) Children
This site is not intended for children under 13. Please do not upload puzzles containing children’s personal information.
8) Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will reflect the latest version.
